Perry had a problem. He had a driveway that he wanted to use for outside gatherings, all while being able to cover his vehicles during the Winter. What he needed was a carport.
" By using granite boulders we found on site, we are able to build something that tied into the land. "
While the house was a beautiful Queen Anne duplex, Perry had visions of something that was more classically New England. Using doric columns and a entablature, we were able to match his vision, while still keeping things in spirit with the aesthetic of the home.
We ended up deciding on a flat roof, both to accentuate the style, as well maintain views from the second floor. Budget was a concern, so we used simple construction methods and sustainable materials in order to optimize the life and detail of the port cochere.
