When an illustration competition came up with the American Institute of Architects, we jumped at the opportunity. It wasn’t enough to make a single illustration; we just had to design our dream home.
" It wasn’t enough to make a single illustration; we just had to design our dream home. "
The home we designed was positioned in idyllic rural Enfield, a location with many farms and long history of agriculture. To that end, we took the architype of the farmhouse, and added many accouterments, such as a wrap around porch, wood siding, muntin windows, and a cruciform massing.
In the end we created a home that we would want to live in ourselves. Large open windows, classic roofing, and a design that is indicative of New England was our goal.
