When Mingo and Diane first approached our firm, their goals were simple. They found the perfect neighborhood. They just needed a home to match it. The existing home was a saltbox colonial in savage disrepair. We proceeded to sketch up some plans together and came up with a design that worked well.
" Our job was to give a our clients a new home without that new home price. "
One of the constraints that we had to respect in this project was cost. Rehabilitations can quickly spiral out of control, but through a series of thoughtful interjections into the existing structure, we were able to meet these requirements. We were able to salvage the existing structural framing, and where we extended with additions, we introduced cost saving trusses, fabricated off-site to ensure that critical measurements were kept.
We also brought the structure up to today's standards. Thermally efficient windows and spray foam insulation helped keep this home protected against the elements. Dated materials were swapped out for timeless classics. In short, we made this house a home.
